Use simple wood dowels and fabric (or paper) scraps to make these beautiful, easy-to-track-down key holders!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What you\u2019ll need<br><\/strong>\u2013 Wood dowels in various sizes and diameters (cylinders, prisms, etc.)<br>\u2013 Thick patterned cardboard or fabric strips<br>\u2013 Non-toxic glue used as varnish (such as Mod Podge)<br>\u2013 Brush or foam applicator<br>\u2013 Eyelets<br>\u2013 Broken loops<br>\u2013 Drill and wood bits<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instructions<br><\/strong>1. At the renovation centre, have dowels cut into various lengths (between 6 and 10 cm\/2.25 and 4 in). You can also use a miter saw at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Cut cardboard or fabric strips in the same sizes as dowels to be \u201cwallpapered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Using a brush or foam applicator, apply glue all over dowels (except the ends), then glue fabric or cardboard on top. Trim off any excess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Dry according to the manufacturer\u2019s instructions, then apply a second coat if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Once the glue has dried, drill a hole in one of the dowel ends, in the middle and using the bit diameter corresponding to the eyelet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Screw eyelet into hole, insert broken loop in eyelet and slide keys inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.
